Turning the calendar brings both good news and bad for employers regarding the job market. On the plus side, many new candidates begin the job-search process. Unfortunately, some of your current workers may be among those looking for opportunities elsewhere.
Glassdoor reports that after a lull in job-search activity during the holiday months, job-seeker activity traditionally rebounds in the new year, with activity 17% higher in January than in a typical month. January also contains what is usually the most active job-seeking week of the entire year—the week of Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Jan. 20, 2025).
